Our Business
Simbus is an independent, product-focused company that’s serious about making great products and services for modeling and simulation, control systems, algorithm design, and systems engineering that integrate and compliment MATLAB® and Simulink® from MathWorks®.
Our background is in aerospace engineering and we’ve worked on projects as diverse as spacecraft, renewable energy, power transmission and distribution, force protection, combat systems, robotics, autonomous and public transportation, flight and propulsion control systems, onboard diagnostic and prognostic systems, and propulsion systems for maritime and naval.
We developed our first product – Simbus BondgraphsTM – initially to undertake projects with our clients. Bond graphs are an extremely effective way for describing physical systems and enabling multidisciplinary teams, especially for concept design, trade-off analyses, early-stage systems engineering, and communicating results to stakeholders.
We also knew that academics and students in universities and colleges around the world were missing adequate tools for supplementing their research, classes, and homework in multidomain physical modeling.
Simbus Bondgraphs is now available to you so that you can design, innovate, teach, and learn physical modeling more effectively. We continue to make Simbus Bondgraphs better and to make other complimentary model-based systems engineering products.
Simbus compliments its products with its services. Take a look to see if there’s a fit for your needs.
Our Commitment to Openness and Quality
Simbus takes quality very seriously. We only release software after rigorous in-house testing and through engagement with our audiences. We use our software for our own internal projects and for our consulting engagements. In the spirit of openness, we publish product issues in our knowledge base and we actively seek your suggestions on how we can improve.
Our Operating Principles
Our Operating Principles are based on the codes of ethics from the IEEE, the UK’s Engineering Council and Royal Academy of Engineering, and Engineers without Borders (UK). They are available here.
