CTRL-D: 2022 Q4

Introduction

Welcome to the first issue of CTRL-D, our quarterly newsletter for the Simbus community. We’re sure that model-based practitioners will understand the origin of the name! Whether you use our products or are involved in physical modeling, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), control systems, and algorithm design, then we hope to have something for you here.

If you have obtained this newsletter from a friend or colleague, then you can sign up for your own copy by clicking on the button below. Also, if you would like to submit an article for inclusion in the newsletter, then contact us!

We will include interesting content related to the above topics. We will also collate the posts and articles made by Simbus staff on various social media channels. CTRL-D will be available to our subscribers and will be archived on our news page. If you want to submit an article for publication, then please contact us and we’ll be very happy to work with you to get it published in a timely manner.

It’s been very busy since we launched Simbus SR2022.0.0.1, the initial release of our products on 25 August, 2022. This included our flagship product, Simbus Bondgraphs™ for physical modeling using Bond Graphs. Simbus Bondgraphs will be at the core of a family of products for Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in the MATLAB® and Simulink® platforms from MathWorks®.

If you haven’t already tried our products, then why not sign up for a free trial (no credit card needed)? Or perhaps you’ve made a decision and you are ready to buy. Just click on one of the buttons below.

Unsurprisingly, interest in Simbus Bondgraphs has been strong in the academic sector and we have been talking with a number of universities to help them integrate Simbus Bondgraphs with their undergraduate and graduate teaching. We were delighted to have been invited to Glasgow Caledonian University on 12 October, 2022 to demonstrate our products.

Since the launch day, we have been answering lots of questions from our audience; helping them with getting trials, providing technical support, and continuing with product development.

We would like to extend our thanks to our early-adopters and keen bond-graphers for submitting their issues and suggestions to us! Please keep on submitting this feedback! It has resulted in some improvements as well as ideas for new features. Some of your feedback has been incorporated into our upcoming maintenance release Simbus SR2022.0.1.1 (see Product Update below).

If you are in need of help and support, don’t hesitate to send a service request to us. Just click on the button below.

Product Update: Release Simbus SR2022.0.1.1

We will be releasing SR2022.0.1.1 of our products (currently, the combination of the Simbus Core Toolbox™ and Simbus Bondgraphs™) on 31 October, 2022. All current users will be notified to update their installation. This includes users who have annual licenses, trial licenses, or run-time licenses. SR2022.0.1.1 is a maintenance release but it includes the ability to save models irrespective of the license type (so run-time license owners can save models) and also when your license has expired.

If you’ve got an idea to help us improve our products & services or even an idea for a new product or service from us, then send your suggestions either from our website or by clicking on the button below.
